Ein Kulturtag in Florenz

Die Schüler:innen der Vernetzten Kulturwissenschaften berichten auf Deutsch und Englisch von ihrem Kulturtag in Florenz, an dem sie unterschiedliche Museen und Sehenswürdigkeiten besichtigt haben. (Mai 2023)

Galleria dell‘Accademia

Wir konnten uns in unserer Kulturreise zwischen drei Museen entscheiden. Uns standen der Palazzo Pitti, die Galleria dell‘Academia und das Leonardo Da Vinci Museum zur Auswahl. Unsere Wahl fiel auf die Galleria dell‘Academia. Dieses stellt eine Vielzahl an wunderbaren und prunkvollen Kunstwerken aus. Viele dieser Meisterwerke wurden von Michelangelo geschaffen. In dieser Ausstellung sah man unter anderem Bilder, Skulpturen und Statuen. Sein bekanntestes Kunstwerk ist der David, welcher hier in der Galleria dell´Academia im Original ausgestellt ist. Wir hatten einen Auftrag von unseren Lehrpersonen erhalten, und zwar mussten wir uns im Museum zwei Gemälde oder Statuen aussuchen sowie darüber recherchieren und uns inspirieren lassen, um sie schlussendlich vor der Gruppe zu präsentieren. So wurde uns die damalige Geschichte in Florenz nähergebracht. Das war auch der Grund für die schöne Zeit, die wir inmitten von prunkvollen Gemälden und Skulpturen hatten.

We were able to choose between three museums for our cultural trip. We had a choice of Palazzo Pitti, Galleria dell’Academia and the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum. Our choice was the Galleria dell’Academia. They exhibit a variety of wonderful and magnificent works of art. Some of these masterpieces were created by our role model Michelangelo. In this exhibition you could see paintings, sculptures, and statues, among other things. You could definitely see his talent for painting. His most famous work of art is the David, which is exhibited here in the Galleria dell’Academia in its original form. We had received an assignment from our teachers, and we had to choose two paintings or statues in the museum, and also do some research on them to present them to the rest of the group. That is how we were introduced to the history of Florence at that time. In conclusion, we can tell you that the visit to Florence gave us new insights into the Italian culture. We were particularly impressed by the cathedral, the museums, and the beautiful squares in the middle of the city as well as the Italian food. We would like to thank our teachers and the staff at the hostel. Thank you for making this trip possible for us.

Ein entspannter Vormittag im Palazzo Pitti

Unser Vormittag startete ruhig. Als wir uns nach dem Frühstück mit unserer Gruppe zusammengefunden hatten, erkundeten wir als Erstes die große Markthalle und danach bekamen wir eine dreiviertel Stunde Zeit, um uns ein bisschen umzusehen oder etwas zu kaufen. Einige von uns haben sich etwas zu trinken oder zu essen gekauft, andere haben bei den Ständen um Souvenirs gehandelt. Danach sind wir zu Fuß zum Palazzo Pitti, um uns dort die wunderschöne „Galleria Palatina“ anzuschauen. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Kunstausstellung, bei der hauptsächlich Gemälde aus der Renaissance, aber auch ein paar modernere Kunstwerke ausgestellt sind. Unsere Professorin gab uns ungefähr eine Stunde Zeit, um uns beide Stockwerke gründlich anzuschauen und am Ende mussten wir in Zweiergruppen das Bild, das uns am besten gefallen hat, kurz vorstellen. Die Galerie und auch das Gebäude waren unglaublich, aus den Fenstern des zweiten Stockes hatte man einen großartigen Ausblick über ganz Florenz. Einige von uns waren sehr müde und nach zweieinhalb Stunden Stehen und Gehen war alles ein bisschen anstrengender. Trotzdem waren wir uns einig, dass sich die Besichtigung sehr gelohnt hat. Wir wurden vor dem Palazzo entlassen und freuten uns alle auf ein ausgiebiges Mittagessen.

Interactive Leonardo da Vinci Museum

The visit to the museum took place on Tuesday. It was a rainy day but that did not matter because we were indoors. We gathered in front of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum and finally our teachers said that we could visit this fabulous museum. Leonardo had a lot of ideas, and the most important thing is that we were allowed to try some of the remodelled versions ourselves. For example, there were some puzzles that we could build, some machines we could try out and there was a short video about Leonardo da Vinci’s life. Moreover, we saw some drafts and paintings of Leonardo da Vinci’s ideas. The information about his ideas was given in different languages, for example French, English, and German. We even saw the mirror room by Leonardo da Vinci, which was extraordinary. An invention that we found interesting was the “diving suit”. Underwater breathing devices were not invented by Leonardo, but he improved the possibility of humans breathing underwater by applying his own knowledge. We had never seen something like this before. In a nutshell, the museum includes lots of creative inventions and it was fun to try them out.

Gli Uffizi

We waited and waited while a man was playing “The four seasons” by Vivaldi on the violin. Finally, our guide came (a nice woman called Antonella) and gave us headphones. Then we went into “The Uffizi Galleries” and she showed us some of the most famous paintings. We saw “The birth of Venus” by Botticelli. It was even more impressive after we talked about it and analysed it. Our guide was very nice and professional, and we learned new things about Italian art. The museum was huge and filled with people, but it was, nonetheless, really pretty.

After this highly interesting visit we went to the Lego-Shop during our free time. You may call it another kind of art… and just like paintings and sculptures they were very expensive. It was a cultural day and we saw two forms of art: one very old and famous and one more modern but just as famous. Whatever you prefer we just want to say, there is “The birth of Venus” in Lego, it is incredible, isn’t it? :) As a conclusion, even though we walked a lot, this day was really interesting and full of new discoveries.
